Worship Band

 

BandThe role of the Worship Band is to provide through musical excellence, a fertile atmosphere where God’s presence can be experienced with ease and excitement.  Even though the Worship Band supports the worship team musically, their role still contains leadership characteristics.  Members of the Worship Band are considered to be highly skilled musicians AND strong spiritual leaders to the rest of the Worship Ministry.  Along with members of the Worship Team, they share in the responsibility of shepherding and mentoring other musicians throughout the ministry and the church. 

Each musician serves either in a primary or a secondary role depending upon his or her musical skills and level of commitment.

Time Commitment for the Worship Band

Primary Musician:       3 or 4 Sundays per month / All services

                                    All scheduled rehearsals

                                    Monthly Worship Band Meeting

                                    Shepherding and teaching Worship Ministry

Secondary:                  1 Sunday per month / All services

                                    All scheduled rehearsals

 

Musical Qualifications

¨  Recognized musical fluency with a leaning towards ear arrangements.

¨  Ability to read chord charts with ease.

¨  Ability to adapt and play convincingly a variety of music styles.

¨  Learn songs very quickly.

¨  Communicate with a presence that is expressive and dynamic.

 

Additional Expectations

¨  Recognized as someone who models worship on and off the platform.

¨ Involved in a small group outside of the Worship Ministry.

¨ Participate in all scheduled rehearsals and services.

¨ Participate in all worship leadership meetings.

¨ Participate in selected seminars and related courses.
