Goals

DISCIPLED STUDENTS

It is easy to talk about discipling students and yet it is often difficult to have a clear description of what a discipled student is. The following is an attempt to put some measureable characteristics and qualities of a discipled student after they leave our ministry.

The scenario is this: We have been working with a student for six years now. We met him as a seventh grader and for the past six years he has been Faithful, Available, Teachable, and respectful of authority in his life: an ideal student. Our DDS (Description of a Discipled Student) is an attempt to describe what he would look like after six years of ministry with him. There are six areas that are of primary concern: EXPERIENCES that he has had; SKILLS that he has developed; PRACTICES that have become a part of his life; things that he now KNOWS; the DESIRES that characterize his heart; and the kinds of RELATIONSHIPS he should have.
