Is Online Giving Worshipful?
If you are accustomed to placing your gifts in the offering plate during worship, you may wonder if an online gift will have the same spiritual significance. We believe it is the heart of the giver, not the method of giving that, makes our financial offerings a true act of worship. The Bible says that, “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7).
If you choose to participate in online giving, your worship during the offering time on Sunday mornings will not be diminished. You may choose to take an offering envelope and write your name on it and the words “Gave Online,” just as a way to participate in the offering time on the weekends. Use that time to thank God for His grace that allows you to give.
What does the Bible say about online giving?
The Bible teaches that our giving to God is based on His example as a giver and motivated by our gratitude to Him. 1 Corinthians 16:2 specifies that our giving should be...
•Proportional (a tithe)—"in keeping with his income..."
•Personal—"each one of you..."
•Practical—"on the first day of the week (Sunday)..."
•Planned—"set aside, saving it up..."
I'm excited that we can now offer the option of online giving, a method that will help you accomplish all four of the above! Many of you have requested this option. It can help you develop and stick to the discipline of regular, generous giving to the Lord by removing some of the obstacles associated with it—forgetfulness, waiting until the end of the month, or temptation (see Malachi 3:10, James 4:7). Online or bank draft giving is a form of advance decision making, which can help you make your giving as consistent as your car payment or health club membership dues.
What are the Benefits to Online Giving?
For you,it's a personal preference, but here are a few of the benefits we hear frequently.

•It helps simplify life...no trying to remember whether or not you've given this month.

•It’s convenient...no more digging for a pen in the dark in the service.
•It’s accessible...you can view and print your giving statements online, don’t have to wait for end of year.
For the church, there are some practical benefits. Through online giving, youhelp your church by:
